Timber frames with off site manufacturing supplied by Seven Oaks from a factory environment in Neath. Targeted Community training opportunities developed around apprenticeships, work placements, work experience and the long term unemployed.

Renewable technology and energy efficient materials were integrated into the homes in order to actively reduce the impact of carbon emissions and fuel poverty. The homes have no gas supply – for water and space heating they use an unglazed Transpired Solar Collector in combination with an air source heat pump. They generate electricity using solar PV and store excess energy in batteries to be used later in the day. When there is less sun the batteries can be charged overnight, which is cheaper than charging during the day.
