Join the Welsh Zero Carbon Hwb for an online event exploring how Welsh social housing providers, researchers, and architects are leading the way on low embodied carbon housing design and delivery.

Organised by the Good Homes Alliance, this session will spotlight pioneering projects and practical approaches to decarbonising both new and existing homes in Wales.

Speakers and topics include:

  • Elfed Roberts, Head of Sustainability & Innovation, Pobl Group – A preview of Pobl’s 2025–2028 Decarbonisation Strategy for New Homes, plus an update on the Gwynfaen low carbon housing development.
  • Clara Koehler, Architecture and Design Lead, Woodknowledge Wales – Insights on the Early Stage Embodied Carbon Tool, the Tai ar y Cyd collaboration, and methods for reducing embodied carbon at site scale.
  • An introduction to the Transforming Homes project: Lessons learned from transforming 1920s–40s social housing using non-extractive, bio-based materials.

The event will conclude with an open Q&A session, offering attendees a chance to engage with the speakers and discuss next steps for scaling up low embodied carbon housing across Wales.
